The Croc Race is a big hit each year as it appeals to all takers and little or no skill is needed. It is similar to the kayak race, with a mass start and a head-to-head downriver race. The objective is to get to the bridge the fastest and there are no rules. Well, not many! This is a team event, so pick your partner carefully. Safety is provided at the major rapids. There will be three heats of 15 boats to ensure plenty of action. The total distance is around 2.5 km.

Even if you are not highly competitive and just want a taste of what rafting is all about, entering this event this is a great way to experience some whitewater and the majesty of the Kogelberg Valley. No experience needed.

This is without doubt the premier spectator sport, as there are many novice apddlers who do not know the river too well. So be on the bridge and surrounds to get a good vantage point, as there is guaranteed to be plenty of fun at Judgement Day rapid.
