This race will run between 9am and 3pm and allows teams of two to enter at any time during the day and compete against the clock through a short course involving various adventure disciplines. It will start and finish at the Festival Hub.

The Spur Adventure Rush will be organised by Eugene Nel and his team from Quantum Adventures. Eugene will put his vast experience as an organizer and competitor in adventure racing into this course, so be ready for an exciting but unusual challenge.

Activities will include:
• Gecko inflatable race from below Judgement Day rapid over approx 200m - launching from the rocks
• River walk/dash/run
• Inflatable tube race opposite the Festival Hub
• Cargo net obstacle
• Water bin filling challenge on the beach near river mouth
• River mouth crossing
• River walk/dash/run - opposite bank
• Disc retrieval (in the water) halfway back to the bridge - 1 team member only
• River crossing below bridge to the finish

* As we progress with the planning of this event, we might include some other physical and mental challenges along the way!

Gear:
• Wearing a PFD is compulsory for the event. PFDs/lifejackets will be supplied, but if you have your own, please use that rather. We might not have enough of the correct sizes for each person.
• Competitors will need to supply and wear own bike helmets for the event.
• It is highly advisable that you wear at least a “shorty” wetsuit (bring your own) - the water is chilly… but awesome!

First batch starts at 9am. Each batch will consist of 12 teams. Any category can race in any batch start. Teams can enter more than once, subject to paying for another entry. When you enter, please choose 2 batch starting times, as your first choice might already have been taken. Pre-entries closes on 10 August. You can enter on the day (subject to availability) but cost is R300 per team.
